Weekly Auction for Good
Five years ago, I decided to put all of my focus and energy into my artwork. A lot has happened in those years, and I feel incredibly fortunate to work as a full time artist today. I've had amazing support from so many of you, and I'm happy to be in a place in my career where I can start to give back. I want to do something good, even in a small way.
Here's the idea: Each week I post a new 6x6" painting up for auction. If you want it, you e-mail me (firstname.lastname@example.org) with a bid, because there is no easy way to add an auction venue to this website. I will try to update with the current high bid each day. If you're the high bidder at the end of the week (8pm eastern the following Sunday), I'll let you know. You then donate that amount to a charitable organization of your choosing, and send me a copy of your receipt as "proof of donation." I mail you the painting. You get both the tax deduction for your donation and a nice little nugget of a painting as a thank you from me. We both feel good. Simple as that.
I tend to be impatient when I'm excited about something, so my website is a temporary venue until I figure out a way to build a more permanent auction site. There will probably be some kinks to work out as we go. But I've wanted to do this for a while and today is the day to start!

When I'm in the studio, I often have time to work on other things while I'm waiting for sections of a larger painting to dry. Recently, I've been having fun with acrylic on paper as seen in these small studies. It's been a long winter, so they are on sale for just $30 here.
